Ladakh is a region administered by India as a union territory which constitutes a part of the larger Kashmir region and has been the subject of dispute between India, Pakistan, and China since 1947. Ladakh is bordered by the Tibet Autonomous Region to the east, the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh to the south, both the Indian-administered union territory of Jammu and Kashmir and the Pakistan-administered Gilgit-Baltistan to the west, and the southwest corner of Xinjiang across the Karakoram Pass in the far north. It extends from the Siachen Glacier in the Karakoram range to the north to the main Great Himalayas to the south. The eastern end, consisting of the uninhabited Aksai Chin plains, is claimed by the Indian Government as part of Ladakh, and has been under Chinese control since 1962.

The largest town in Ladakh is Leh, followed by Kargil, each of which headquarters a district. The Leh district contains the Indus, Shyok and Nubra river valleys. The Kargil district contains the Suru, Dras and Zanskar river valleys. The main religious groups in the region are Muslims, mainly Shia (46%), Buddhists, mainly Tibetan Buddhists (40%), and Hindus (12%) with the remaining 2% made of other religions. Its culture and history are closely related to those of Tibet.

Day 1 :

Start journey from Howrah Railway Station for New Delhi Railway Station by Rajdhani/Shatabdi Express.

Day 2 :

Arrive in New Delhi in morning. In evening, we shall board train for Jammu Tawi Station.

Day 3 :

Arrive in Jammu Station and then transfer to Srinagar. After arrival, check in hotel. Rest of the time is free for leisure.

Day 4 :

After early breakfast, check out from Srinagar and proceed to Kargil via Sonmarg, Zozi La, Dras, Kargil War Memorial. After a journey around 9 hours, reach Kargil and check in hotel. Rest of the time is free for leisure.

Day 5 :

After breakfast, check out from Kargil and proceed for Leh. En route, visit Lamayuru Monastery, Sangam (Confluence of Indus and Zanskar), Magnetic Hill etc. After a journey around 5 hours, reach Leh. Rest of the time is free for leisure.

Day 6 :

After breakfast, we shall explore local sightseeing points of Leh like Leh Palace, Thiksey Monastery etc.

Day 7 :

Today we will move toward Nubra Valley via Khardung La. For that, we shall have to leave Leh after an early breakfast. It is around 5 hours journey to reach Nubra Valley.

Day 8 :

Today is reserved day for the excursion to Turtuk Valley, Hunder.

Day 9 :

After early breakfast, check out from Nubra and proceed to visit the Great Pangong Tso (Lake) after a journey around 8 hours. Shyok River will accompany us for some time. Reach Pangong in afternoon and rest of the time is free for leisure.

Day 10 :

After breakfast, check out from Pangong Tso and move back to Leh via Chang La.

Day 11 :

Early morning check out from Leh after an early breakfast, then starting journey for Jispa, which will take around 10 hours journey by roaad via Baralacha La.

Day 12 :

Today we will move down to Manali from Jispa after breakfast, which will take around 3:30 hours journey via Keylong, Atal Tunnel, Solang Valley.

Day 13 :

After breakfast and with packed lunch, check out from Manali and heading back to Chandigarh or Ambala to board the train to Kolkata.
