The word Kashmir is thought to have been derived from Sanskrit and was referred to as Káśmīra. A popular local etymology of Kashmira is that it is land desiccated from water. Kashmir is the northernmost geographical region of the Indian subcontinent. Until the mid-19th century, the term “Kashmir” denoted only the Kashmir Valley between the Great Himalayas and the Pir Panjal Range.
Kashmir has a recorded forest area of 20,230 square kilometres (7,810 sq mi) along with some national parks and reserves. It has four well defined zones of vegetation in the tree growth, due to the difference in elevation. The tropical forests up to 1500 m, are known as the Phulai (Acacia modesta) and Olive (Olea cuspid ata) Zone. There occur semi-deciduous species of Shorea robusta, Acacia catechu, Dalbergia sissoo, Albizia lebbeck, Garuga pinnata, Terminalia bellirica and T. tomentosa and Pinus roxburghii are found at higher elevations.
Kashmir is referred as a beauty spot of the medicinal and herbaceous flora in the Himalayas. There are hundreds of different species of wild flowers recorded in the alpine meadows of the region. The botanical garden and the tulip gardens of Srinagar built in the Zabarwans grow 300 breeds of flora and 60 varieties of tulips respectively. The later is considered as the largest Tulip Garden of Asia.

Day 1 :

Start journey from Howrah by Rajdhani at 16:40
Night Stay: Train

Day 2 :

Reach Delhi and city tour. After that, broad Rajdhani for Jammu Tawi at 20:40
Night Stay: Train

Day 3 :

Reach Jammu at around 05:30 and then start the journey to Katra. After a journey of around 1:30 hours, reach Katra and check into the hotel. Lunch will be served in hotel. Then in evening, start hiking for Vaishno Mata Darshan.

Day 4 :

Back to hotel after a overnight hike and take full day rest.

Day 5 :

Check out from Katra and you will be dropped at Katra Station for boarding train Vande Bharat for Banihal. Enjoy the Chenab Bridge, recognized as World’s Highest Railway Arch Bridge. Reach Banihal Station and from there, you will be transferred to Pahalgam by car. Lunch will be served in Hotel.

Day 6 :

After breakfast, go out to visit local sightseeing points like Betab Valley, Chandan Wadi, Aru Valley at optional cost. Back to hotel for lunch. Later, check out from Pahalgam and transfer to Srinagar.

Day 7 :

Today is reserved for excursion to Gulmarg.

Today is reserved for excursion to Sonmarg.

Day 9 :

After breakfast, let’s go out for exploring local points of Srinagar viz. Shalimar Bagh, Tulip Garden, Pari Mahal etc. Later back to hotel for lunch. After lunch, go to Dal Lake to enjoy Shikara Ride.

Day 10 :

After lunch, we shall check out from Srinagar and drop at Jammu Railway Station by 6 pm.

Day 11 :

Arrival in Delhi at around 6 am. Half day city tour could be arranged or guest could stay in hotel near Paharganj at their own expense. Then return Rajdhani Express from Delhi to Howrah at 16:40

Back to Kolkata with unforgettable memories.

  • To book the tour, Guests are requested to pay 30% of Total Package Amount plus Train Fare/Air Fare by cheque under the Company name, Trek and Tour World, with submitting proper document’s xerox copy. 40 days prior to journey date, 40% to be paid by Guests. Balance amount has to be paid at the time of starting of Tour.
  • The entire tour will be conducted in Reserved Bus or Reserved Cab.
  • Family wise room would be provided. Single traveler has to pay Rs. 2,000 per night extra room rent if he/she occupies One Double Bedroom alone.
  • If any Tatkal Charge is levied on Train Ticket, then traveler will be liable to pay the Tatkal Charge.
